Veteran guests have dedicated themselves to addressing some of the most pressing issues facing veterans today: feelings of disconnection from their communities, struggles with suicidal thoughts, and difficulties in accessing their hard-earned governmental benefits.

As Pauline (Social Worker) put it, "I think that the problem can be more solved if we as a community say, 'Hey, what is it I can do right now, right here, as your neighbor, as your teacher, as your pastor, as your friend?'" This echoes what I've always believed - that true change starts with how we show up for each other

Mama Joy, a wise and compassionate woman, offered her unique perspective on the healing process. "This is not a religious issue. This is a spiritual issue and it's something that's damaging us totally because we're not dealing with the issues," she explained. She continued, "We're on a mission that religion won't work, but it's a relationship that you have with God. And how God guides us by whatever name you call it. It doesn't matter. God is not religion and God is not a race. God is spirit."...

...Janine, a motivational speaker and author, shared her hands-on approach to community building through her organization, The Love Journey. "We have love ambassadors that take over each block and they pray over that block. They bring peace to that block. What do the children on that particular block need?" she explained. Janine illustrated the impact of this approach with a touching story about helping a homeless man get a job, in her community, emphasizing the importance of listening and taking action...
